ONLINE BAD BEAT JACKPOT

The Bad Beat jackpot is a progressive jackpot that rewards the unlucky player. If you appear to be favoured to win the hand but are beaten at the showdown, you are the big winner of the Bad Beat jackpot! Losing has never been this rewarding.

Loto-Québec offers you Texas Hold’em poker tables that are reserved for Bad Beat jackpots. At these specially marked tables, an amount is taken from each pot* for, among other things, the progressive jackpot.

  • Bad Beat jackpot: 50¢ is taken from each pot
  • Micro Bad Beat jackpot:  is taken from each pot

In order to be the big winner of the Bad Beat jackpot, you must get the second-highest ranked hand in the game with:

  • four eights or a hand of higher rank in the case of a Bad Beat jackpot
  • four twos or a hand of higher rank in the case of a Micro Bad Beat jackpot.

The player with the second-highest ranked hand (Bad Beat hand) and the player with the highest-ranked hand must always compose their 5-card poker hand with their two pocket cards. In the case of a four of a kind, the two pocket cards must be a pair.

See the various poker combination rankings.

Each progressive jackpot is divided as follows:

  • 50% of the progressive jackpot is won by the player with the second-highest ranked hand (Bad Beat hand);
  • 25% goes to the player with the highest-ranked hand;
  • 25% is shared equally among all other players who received two pocket cards

The amount of the current progressive jackpot is shown on the table.
